Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson (b. 1967) is known for sculptures and large-scale installation art employing elemental materials such as light, water, and air temperature to enhance the viewer’s experience. In 1995 he established Studio Olafur Eliasson in Berlin, a laboratory for spatial research.
Eliasson’s work is a result from careful research into complex geometry, motion patterns, and colour theory and often employs reflections and shadows to play with the way we perceive and interact with the world.
Since the mid-1990s, Eliasson has realised numerous major exhibitions and projects around the world and his work is represented in prestigious collections worldwide, including those of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and Tate Collection, London.
