About
Danish designer Finn Juhl (1912-1989) graduated from the School of Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Although he was by training an architect he was first and foremost a renowned furniture designer. With his furniture Juhl contributed in revolutionizing the concept of Danish Design with an extraordinary sense of the interplay between furniture, space and colors.

Juhl’s furniture design and inherent organic, sculptural expression, made sure to introduce Danish Modern to the world, specifically the United States. He was at the height of his career in the 1940’s and it was also during these years that he created his most iconic furniture, among these The Poet-sofa.
